Vanna White hosts 'Wheel of Fortune' after Sajak has surgery

"Wheel of Fortune" tweeted that Sajak's surgery was "successful".

However, the Thursday taping of the show was abruptly cancelled because Sajak had to undergo emergency surgery, and co-star Vanna White is replacing him as host in the interim. By Friday, a familiar face had taken over hosting duties: Sajak's longtime sidekick, Vanna White, who's expected to fill those shoes until Sajak's return.

There's no doubt that Pat Sajak will be back on-set in no time. It is the longest-running syndicated game show in the U.S., with 7,000 episodes taped and aired as of May 10, 2019. "He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work", the show shared on their official Instagram. Her episodes that will air starting December 9.

The show is now filming "Disney Week" at its studio in Los Angeles, with Mickey Mouse himself taking over White's usual role of turning the letters. White joined the show in 1982 and the duo have been closely identified with the show for decades.
