Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton has been named an All-Star for the second consecutive season, the National Basketball Association announced today. When the fourth quarter begins, the scores for each team from the first three quarters combined will be redisplayed, and the team that wins the All-Star Game will be the first to reach a target score in the untimed fourth quarter.
"If the cumulative score of the first three quarters is 100-95, the final target score would be set at 124 points". The new format draws from The Basketball Tournament, where teams play to a set target score in the fourth quarter.
In addition to the three starters named to their first team last week - Luka Doncic, Trae Young and Pascal Siakam - six others were named Thursday night as reserves for the February 16 game: Utah Jazz teammates Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert; New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram; Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo; Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis; and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum. "With no minimum or maximum time on the clock in the fourth quarter, the NBA All-Star Game will end with a made basket or a made free throw".

The NBA says, ultimately, $1 million will be donated to Chicago-based charities.
The full All-Star teams will be drafted by team captains Giannis Antetokounmpo in the East and LeBron James in the West who were the two leading vote-getters. Just like in the first quarter, whichever team "wins" the second quarter will win $100,00 for charity.
Each of the first three quarters will be worth $100,000, and the money will roll over to the next quarter in the event of a tie. If one team leads the entire way through, the losing team will still get $100,000 to donate to its charity, anyway. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel will also be coaching Team LeBron.
The 2020 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the United Center in Chicago, airing live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT and ESPN Radio in the United States.
