India's junior defence minister told Parliament in March that Pakistan violated the ceasefire at least 646 times between January 1 and February 23 this year.

Haider accused Indian forces of being "more focused on committing ceasefire violations" than fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

India accuses Pakistan of arming and training anti-India fighters and also helping them by providing gunfire as cover for incursions into the Indian side.

Meanwhile, Indian Charge d'Affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia was summoned by Director General (South Asia & Saarc) Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri to register Pakistan's strong protest over the ceasefire violations by Indian troops. There are reports that heavy damage has been caused on the other side (Pakistan).

Earlier in the afternoon on Sunday, Pakistani rangers resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation and targeted the Indian Army posts.
