Both figures are nearly certainly an undercount due to a lack of widespread testing and the likelihood that many people without symptoms could be spreading the highly contagious virus.

Over 2600 COVID-19 cases have been reported in MS, with the death toll up over 90. An outbreak is defined as two or more laboratory confirmed cases.

There have now been 22 residents who have died at the facility since the outbreak was first reported last month. And the Oregon Health Authority has not provided total case and death counts for all homes in the state, despite a newsroom request for the numbers one week ago.
