The sudden rush is allegedly because Olivier, 50, is trying to kick Olsen out of their New York City apartment.

News on Wednesday, May 13-the day news broke that Mary-Kate filed for divorce from her husband of six years-that Ashley invited her sister to stay with her at her home outside of New York City as MK sorts through her divorce. She made a decision to take legal action on April 17 but the NY courts refused to accept the divorce filings other than emergencies due to the Coronavirus spur.

She's requesting an emergency order to allow her to file the divorce.

Olsen and her legal team are now working to get things moving on the divorce after Sarkozy reportedly terminated the couple's lease on their NY apartment without informing Olsen. However, Sarkozy's attorney, Adam Turbowitz, sent an email to Olsen's legal team that expressed that his client had already "noticed that a number of items of personal property were removed from the apartment".

Sarkozy and Olsen first began dating in 2012 and tied the knot in 2015. Not only is Olivier the half-brother of Nicolas Sarkozy, the former President of France, he has two children, Julien and Margot, from his first marriage.

Celebrity divorce attorney Christopher Melcher, a partner of Los Angeles-based Walzer Melcher family law, tells Yahoo Entertainment that Olsen's request feels like "a rich person cutting in line".
