COVID-19 cases in India cross 2.86 lakh, death toll at 8,102

In its morning update, the Union Health Ministry said the total number of cases across India has risen to 3,08,993 with an increase of 11,458 new cases in the 24 hours that ended at 8 a.m. on June 13. This indicates that of all the cases of Covid-19, half of them have recovered from the disease.

Maharashtra also marked another three-digit toll of 120, down by 32 from the record high of 152 on June 11, and also notched a drop in new cases by 217 from the highest of 3,607 on May 11.

Earlier on Thursday, India passed the United Kingdom in terms of coronavirus cases to become the fourth worst-hit country. More new recoveries than new active cases reported in Bihar, Chhattishgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Odisha, Telangana and Uttarakhand.

In the last 24 hours 471 people have died. For a dozen days now the state has been recording over 100 fatalities and 2,000 cases.

It is followed by Tamil Nadu (40,698) and the national capital with 36,824 Covid-19 cases.

"As on 8am (local time), today 9,195 deaths related to novel coronavirus have been recorded in the country", reads information released by the ministry.

Puducherry has 176 COVID-19 cases, Nagaland has 163, Mizoram has 107, Arunachal Pradesh has 87, Meghalaya 44 while Andaman and Nicobar Islands has registered 38 infections so far.

Coronavirus Tally Crosses Three Lakhs In India:- The new cases of coronavirus are fastly increasing across the country.

Currently, Mumbai has a total of 55,451 cases. The state is notably India's worst-hit in the COVID-19 outbreak, that started in India in late-January.

Sikkim has reported 63 cases, while Dadar and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu together have reported 35 infections.
