‘Pink Supermoon’ to be visible on April 8

Assuming we get some moderately clear skies after last night's storms, it should be a nice little viewing opportunity.

The Pink Supermoon rises over the Shard skyscraper in London in an astronomical event that occurs when the Moon is closest to the Earth in its orbit, making it appear much larger and brighter than usual, in London, Britain, April 7, 2020. May I suggest some moon viewing of April's "pink supermoon" this evening from your backyard or neighborhood?

NASA wants to encourage everyone to take a peek at Tuesday's (April 7) "supermoon".

We have 13 full moons to look forward to in 2020.

"People should try to see the moon just after its rise with the horizon as the background when a full moon looks spectacularly larger than during the later night hours when it is high above in the sky", he said.

A supermoon occurs when the moon is especially close to Earth while it's full.
